Hockey Club Genova History
From the origins of field hockey in Italy, its values have been passed down from generation to generation up to the present day.
This is our story: a story of pioneers coming from other sports, who became passionate and helped build this sport in Italy; a story of people who, once they entered the world of hockey, carried this sport in their hearts for life.
This is the story of the passion for hockey in Genoa.
It was November 1936 when the then “GUF Genova” was founded. After the war, the club was re-established by former GUF players, who founded Hockey Club Genova. The passion and the club colours have always remained the same: yellow and blue.
Ten national championship titles were won.
The First Men’s Team
The First Women’s Team
In 2020, a group of mothers stepped onto the field to ensure a hockey future for their daughters: this is the spirit that led to the creation of the first women’s team of Hockey Club Genova. In fact, for more than 40 years HC Genova had not had a women’s team. The mothers paved the way, and today they have stepped aside to make room for their daughters.
